Warm up on Sa. Ranjani glows, so sing with a soft, luminous lift. Make the Madhyam clearly sharp (prati madhyama), and note that the ascent has no Panchama, giving it a floating grace: "S R G M D Ṡ." Then, in descent, savour the bright borrowed Nishad: "Ṡ N D M G R S." Practise the cadence "M G R S" and the shining turn "G M D M G." Add gentle gamaka. Ranjani is enchanting and contemplative, so let each phrase glow softly and draw the listener inward.
